Notre Dame Academy celebrated its Class of 2013 Baccalaureate Mass and Commencement Exercises on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral at 7 p.m. McKenna Kulish is valedictorian and will attend Northwestern University where she earned the Northwestern University Scholarship valued at $62,312 over four years. Madeline Kaplan is salutatorian and will attend Yale University where she received the Yale College Scholarship.
The 149 members of the Class of 2013 earned an astounding $18 million in college awards, a school record. Students were accepted at over 120 colleges and universities including such top universities as Brown University, Harvard University, Yale University, University of Pennsylvania, Northwestern University, University of Notre Dame, Duke University, Boston College, Boston University, Smith College, University of St. Andrews (Scotland), Vanderbilt University, The Ohio State University, University of Michigan, University of Toledo and Bowling Green State University.
These 149 young women are familiar faces throughout the community since they have volunteered 12,500 hours locally, nationally in Appalachia, and internationally in Nicaragua.
