Congratulations to Lizzie Axe and Natalie Doumet, this week’s Athletes of the Week!
JV golfer and freshman Lizzie Axe started the season in the 6 spot after tryouts and is slowly working her way up through the lineup with consistent play and improved scores each and every time she tees it up. According to Head JV Golf Coach Cody Morse: Lizzie was present at almost all of our preseason get-togethers and it is obvious that she put in the time and effort to align herself with the virtue of perseverance. This is probably the most important virtue a golfer can possess because no matter what happens on the golf course good or bad, you have to be able to push through it. Lizzie has done a great job of that and her scores from the 6th position have counted in all but two of our matches.”
Varsity tennis player and sophomore Natalie Doumet and her doubles partner Kathryn Riddle, persevered to defeat Central Catholic on one of the hottest days of the season. Natalie and Kathryn also worked together to defeat a very strong doubles team from Rocky River Magnificat this past Saturday, after being down several games and coming back to win their match! According to Head JV A Tennis Coach Susan Stearns: “Natalie has demonstrated the virtues of DEDICATION, PERSEVERANCE and COMMITMENT to our team. She is always willing to work hard at practice and is a delight to coach! Natalie exemplifies the characteristics of a true Notre Dame Academy Woman of Vision!
