BIG SIS / LITTLE SIS PROGRAM
This mentoring program focuses on developing proactive strategies to help Junior Academy girls experience success. Junior Academy girls have plenty of opportunities to link with their “Big Sisters” both inside and outside of school.
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Tomorrow's Leadership Committee (TLC) is a unique skill development concept that allows different girls to step up at numerous times throughout the year. A variety of social, spiritual, and academic activities allow teams of girls to serve as a leadership grup for that specific activity. This unique concept allows more girls to begin to develop their time management, team building, communication skills, and natural leadership abilities.
SCHOOL TRIPS
River rafting, historical tours and theatre productions are just a few of the numerous trips in which the Junior Academy has participated. Each year different opportunities open up for the girls.
OTHER STUDENT ACTIVITIES CAN INCLUDE:
Movie Nights

PASTORAL SERVICES
Junior Academy girls take leadership roles in planning Liturgies, prayer services, retreats and other religious events throughout the year. They plan and implement their own May Crowning and Stations of the Cross. “I love the retreats...it really helps us bond like a family.”
SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
Throughout the school year, Junior Academy girls participate in a wide range of Christian Service opportunities. Each is designed to broaden their views on the community and its needs. One of their favorite service projects is working with the Notre Dame Sisters in residence.

Our Mission Statement

Notre Dame Junior Academy, for adolescent women in grades 7 and 8, provides a holistic education in the Catholic tradition that nurtures the development of individual strengths and gifts in an academically innovative environment.

Along with an unparalleled academic foundation, the Notre Dame Junior Academy program is enriched with the Christian values that provide adolescent women with the guiding principles for a lifetime of contribution - at home, in their careers and in their communities.

We believe that each young woman has an inherent God-given dignity. Therefore, we strive to help them develop a deep respect for themselves and others as children of God in a setting permeated with Christian values.

We believe that adolescent women learn best in an environment that is challenging and supportive, affording them opportunities to process knowledge and information through sharing and discussion. Therefore, we structure the learning experience accordingly.

We believe adolescent women need an emotionally safe environment in which to explore and experience their strengths and weaknesses. Therefore, we provide a variety of curricular and co-curricular opportunities to promote these experiences.

We believe adolescent women learn in different ways and at different paces. Therefore, our academic content and delivery are responsive to this.

We believe in preparing adolescent women to succeed in the college preparatory environment. Therefore, we work closely with Notre Dame Academy to ensure spiritual, academic and social preparedness and ease of transition.
