Doctors can be expensive and while you should see a doctor regularly and always go to them when you have a serious problem. Sometimes though, you just need some ways to take care of minor aches and pains or sickness at home without spending all of that time and money to go to the doctor. | ACNE | Orange peel pounded well with water. Applied to affected acne areas. Cucumber leaves or grated pieces. Apply to area for acne cure. Rub the pimple( acne) with a fresh cut clove of garlic. Drinking at least 1 liter of water a day to impart a healthy glow to the skin. |
| ALLERGIES | Grind 1 tbls of poppy seeds with 1 teaspoon water. Add 1 teaspoon lime juice. Apply to affected area for relief from skin allergies. Peel and crush a one inch piece of fresh ginger root. Place into a mug and pour boiling water over it. Steep for 5-10 minutes and drink it at once. |
| ARTHRITIS | A gentle massage with warm olive oil relieves arthritis pain. Dilute garlic, juniper, lavender, sage, rosemary, thyme, or sassafras oils one part to ten parts of olive oil and use it to massage the painful joint area. |
| BODY ODOR AND PERSPERATION | Place some rose water in the bathtub before taking a both. No deodorant is required after the bath. Tea tree oil is an antibiotic herb, make a deodorant by mixing two drops of the essential oil and one ounce of water. Drinking a cup of sage tea daily will reduce the activity of sweat glands and minimize odor. |
| BRUISES | Mix one part of cayenne pepper with five parts melted Vaseline, cool and apply once daily. Prepare a tea with comphry root and soak a rag in the tea, apply onto the affected area. You can also apply crushed parsley to the affected area until the bruise disappears. |
| BURNS | NOTE: Use only on first degree burns, second and third degree burns need to be treated at the hospital. Immediately wash with cold water until the burning stops. Apply aloe Vera paste to the burnt area several times a day. |
| COLD SORES | Press or rub ice on the sore when you feel a cold sore coming on. It will help slow the rapid growth. Apply vitamin E topically for pain relief. You can also apply a cornstarch paste to help the sore heal faster. |
| COMMON COLD | For dry and stuffy nose, try normal saline or salt water nasal drops made by adding 1/4 teaspoon of table salt to about 4 ml lukewarm water. Make a fresh solution every few days keeping it in refrigerator. Use a clean dropper to instill 1 to 2 drops in each nostril about 3 to 4 times daily for common cold . Garlic juice made by adding few drops of garlic oil to a teaspoonful of onion juice and diluting it in a cup of water. Ginger tea or a teaspoonful of ginger juice taken with equal quantity of honey. |
| COMMON FEVER | Soak 25 raisins in half a cup of water and grind them into the water, strain and discard the skin. Add a teaspoon of limejuice to the exract. Take two times daily. A cup of fresh apricot juice with a teaspoon of honey. |
| COUGH | Soak almonds overnight. Remove their skin. Make a paste of these almonds with little butter and sugar. Very useful for a dry cough. Hot tea with lemon and raspberry jam, drink as much as possible. Drink hot milk with honey at bedtime for cough relief For Back Combine 3 tbs. lemon juice, 1 cup honey, and 1/4 cup warm water. Take 1-2 tbs. as needed. |
| HEADACHES | Apply a warm poultice of ginger powder at the forehead. Make a solution of a half teaspoon of mustard seeds powder and three teaspoons of water, place solution in nostrils. |
