Option for and with the Poor and Vulnerable
A basic moral test is how our most vulnerable members are faring. The option for the poor is a contemporary formulation of the traditional "works of mercy." The option with the poor calls for a significantly different stance where the Church takes her stand beside the poor and can better view the world from the perspective of the poor.*

Dignity of Work and the Rights of Workers
The economy must serve people, not the other way around. Work is a form of continuing participation in God's creation. The basic rights of workers must be respected, the right to productive work, to decent and fair wages, to the organization and joining of unions, to private property, and to economic initiative.*

Hannah's Socks
Hannah's Socks is an organization dedicated to providing necessary clothing items such as socks and undergarments to the homeless, victims on domestic abuse, and under-privileged children. "Hannah's Socks firmly believes that in a country as prosperous as the United States, no man, woman or child should want for something as basic as a warm pair of socks."

The Worker Rights Consortium is a labor rights monitoring organization, which investigates working conditions around the world. The Worker Rights Consortium focuses on eliminating sweat shops and protecting the rights of workers who sew apparel and make other products sold in the US. They do this by conducting independent investigations and aiding workers in defending their workplace rights.
