  • St. John the Baptist School would like high school candidates to volunteer their time to tutor some middle school students in areas of math and language arts. This will take place after school hours or at other arranged time by the student’s parents. If you are interested please contact Mrs. Melissa Romero, 419-726-7761.
  • Heartbeat of Toledo would like teen volunteers to help with their new parenting program “Heart to Heart.” Volunteers are needed Monday through Thursday to answer the phone, package diapers, prepare parenting materials, or sort clothing. If interested, contact Kateri Walsh at 419-531-6481.
  • Concord Care Center of Toledo requests assistance with maintaining the grounds of their elderly nursing facility, located at 3121 Glanzman Road in Toledo. Volunteers are needed 1-2 times per week. If interested, contact Lisa Comley at 419-385-6616.
  • Sylvania Area Family Services is in need of volunteers to work with youth in grades 1-5. Contact Jason Robertson, 419-882-8415, if interested. Interfaith Hospitality Network of Metro Toledo is in need of student volunteers to help set up and take down beds, prepare meals, and give a warm welcome to homeless families in Toledo.   • Vail Meadows Therapeutic Riding Center in Oregon, OH, provides therapeutic horseback riding to adults and children with special needs. No previous horse experience is required. If interested, call 419-697-8960.
  • Kyndard's Child Development Center, located at 3300 Upton Avenue, needs assistance in their child care program. Service includes helping with snack, indoor and outdoor play, as well as working with children on their colors, numbers and shapes.   • Whitehouse Country Manor, a facility caring for elderly, rehab, and behavioral patients, needs volunteers from 4-8 p.m. Monday through Friday, or on weekends. Volunteer for one day a week or more. If interested, contact Ruth Williams at 419-877-5338.
  • The Glendale, a new assisted living facility in south Toledo on Ryan Road across from Southwyck Mall, would like volunteers to play cards and visit the residents. Call Mary Ann, administrator, if interested: 419-389-0800.
  • Positive Choices, an abstinence until marriage teen pregnancy education and prevention program, is looking for teen volunteers for their peer mentor program. These students are trained to act as mentors and presenters for younger students. Interested? Contact “Positive Chioces” at 419-251-2304.
  • HOSPICE of Northwest Ohio is in need of teen volunteers. Teens would be asked to help distribute meal trays and water, visit with patients, listen to their stories, read to them or play games with them, or escort patients around the grounds.
